Parents Responsibilities
Registration fees are due at the time of application and are nonrefundable. NO child can be placed either into a program or onto a waiting list without paid registration. An annual registration fee is charged each September. Tuition payments for the program are considered late if not paid by 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Any payment after 2:00 p.m. will be charged a $25 late fee. There will be a charge for each returned check ($30). Two returned checks will result in your account being placed on “cash only” status. There will be a late pick up charge for children picked up from the center after closing time; there will be a charge of one dollar for every minute late. If a payment is a two days late the child’s spot will be let go. Additional charges may be assessed pertaining to supply fees, extra meals, activity fees, extra-curricular activities, and for care that extends beyond 10 hours per day. If a child is absent for a week they are to cover half of the week they are absent to hold their spot.
We plan for your child to attend every day that he/she is scheduled. Therefore, if your child is going to be absent from school, please call the office by 8:00 a.m. There are no make-up days for absences. If your child becomes sick, you must have a doctor’s note stating that your child may return to school, before he/she can resume attendance in the program. The are NO tuition adjustments due to absence or family vacations.
For Houston Kidz Academy to accept legal responsibility, the escorting adult must sign your child in and out daily. Your child will be released to those individuals you have authorized on your child’s enrollment form. A faxed or written notice is required for your child to be released to someone other than those on your child’s enrollment information forms. Your child will not be released to any unauthorized person without your permission.
Teachers will be assessing each child using CLI Engage Developmental Milestones checklist (Infant-PreK). Child assessments will occur 2 times a year. The child assessments will be share and discussed with the parents during Parent Teacher conferences. A copy will be given to the parents
Houston Kidz Academy must have certain items on file for each admitted child. These requirements are listed below. Please speak with the director if you have any questions regarding these items. Most of these items should be received in your application packet.
⦁ Children must be between the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years old
⦁ Complete contact information for at least three authorized pick-up people
⦁ An up-to-date record of immunizations must be on file
⦁ Complete Admission Forms
Children with special needs are welcomed at Houston Kidz Academy. Although our staff may not be fully trained to care for a child with special needs, we will make sure to give the child the care they need to the best of our abilities. If we can no longer meet your expectations, you are welcomed to find a facility that is able to.
Houston Kidz Academy will gladly provide parent conferences
and are available upon request. We also have scheduled times for parent teacher conferences whether it be by phone or in person twice a year. During the conference we will go over progress, milestones, and behavior. We also have Open House in the beginning of the school year (September) and during this time we like hearing feedback, and our teachers will show you their work and inform you of our upcoming year.
Parents will be informed by phone in case of any emergency. Please make sure all telephone numbers are updated and correct. All other communication will be sent home with your child on a weekly basis. Houston Kidz Academy holds annual activities such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. We will have additional events as the year goes and will have them added to our Newsletter and will also send out notes.
