A little bit about me

A little bit about me. My beginnings start in Mexico and life brought me to Houston and I could not be happier it did. I began working at an elementary school and my love for helping children grew even more there. Being able to help families in need was a way to give back to our community. Children are our future, and we must do everything we can to help them reach all their goals no matter how small. I have a wonderful family and am blessed with three kids of my own. My center is small but mighty and family owned. I work alongside my husband and daughter. We all work as a team and continue to pour all our love into what we do.

Know More About Us

Houston Kidz Academy was founded in 2008 and since then we have been dedicated to providing quality care. We are a small owned family operated business. Family is most important so we treat everyone with kindness because we know you are allowing us to care for your child. Over the years we have poured so much love and hard work towards improving our center in all aspects: coaching, education, and programs.

We also include cultural aspects into the curriculum for our students as well as teach them in both Spanish and English. Our goal is to create a positive and fun learning experience.

Awards: 2020

Earlier today, we presented the Elsie Samuels Early Childhood Educator Excellence Award to Doris Menchaca, on behalf of The Samuels Foundation. It was presented by Dr. Melanie Johnson, President and CEO of Collaborative for Children, and Board member, Dr. Bobbi Samuels, whose mother-in-law is the namesake for the award. Congratulations, Doris! #teachers #earlylearning. Isn’t this a great b/w photo of Elsie teaching in the 1950’s? What an inspiration she was to teachers everywhere.
